So, what can visitors expect from a WalkAbout™ tour with Kamamma or Boeti?

Dreamcatcher views local communities as the ultimate custodians of the environment where they live. On our Walkabout tours you learn about the history and rich culture of the community, and engage with locals who share life as lived. This is done in a safe and unintrusive way. We have been embedded in these communities for decades and your Walkabout guide lives in the community. You will not find yourself as part of a large group – your Walkabout is private to your party, offering a personal and unintrusive encounter. It is not a ‘bus window’ experience.

You can come for a day tour, but where possible we recommend you consider spending a night or two in the community thereby supporting the local economy. Become a local – not a tourist.

Visit and chance your hand at feeding the tame eels in the fountain at the Stilbaai Tourism Bureau.
Enjoy a fresh coffee, and visit the Blombos Archaeological Museum which will transport you back over 70 000 years.
Visit the ancient fish traps at the Indian Ocean and contribute to maintaining history through stacking a stone at the world oldest fish nets.
Pay a visit to the ancient shell middens, where you can view the staple diet of ancestors thousands of years ago.
Watch the sun set over the stunning Indian Ocean, home to scores of Southern Right Whales from June to mid-November where the come to birth their young.

Example 2 - Riversdale and Langeberg Mountain - Go truly Local with the Mountain Man - Day tour

On this unique experience meet ‘The Mountain Man’ Willie – he is passionate about conservation, grows Proteas on the stunning slopes of the Langeberg mountain range and will transport you into awesome nature. On this tour you can expect:
