‘Beads on One String Around the World’ Film ‘Goes Truly Local’ in South African Communities

Gig on Stilbaai beach

Earlier this year we were blessed to host Dennis Warner and his talented band who were touring South Africa giving performances as volunteers as part of the STEPi (Squaring the Education Pyramid Institute) literacy and cognitive development programme which Dreamcatcher is managing in South Africa. Dreamcatcher  facilitated all travel arrangements from Johannesburg to Gqeberha (PLZ) and their stay at Addo National Park. We coordinated travel arrangement and community engagement events during the bands’ stay in the Western Cape. This included performances by Dennis and the band in Oudtshoorn, Herbertsdale, Stilbaai, Melkhoutfontein, Montagu, Robertson, Nuy, and Darling – where they enjoyed engaging with the children and sharing meals with Dreamcatcher Kamammas in Stilbaai, Jongensfontein and Kayamandi, Stellenbosch.

The band recently released this beautiful music video ‘Beads On One String Around the World’ which includes footage of their time in South Africa – plus their tours in Cambodia, Canada, Netherlands, India, and USA. If you watch carefully, you’ll see snippets of the Dreamcatcher family including Kamammas Esme & Elmordine, the DC Kids, Stilbaai, Montagu, Driver Tefo in Johannesburg, numerous Western Cape schools, driver Ineke and our founder Anthea. We look forward to welcoming Dennis and the whole team back soon.
