Dreamcatcher Collaborates with the Utopia Foundation to Develop Literacy and Cognitive Skills Development across South Africa

Since our inception over 30 years ago we have worked on a range of integrated projects focusing on youth development.

This month we are elated to be appointed as project managers for the STEPi – (Squaring the Education Pyramid Institute) programme in South Africa. Sharing a passion to improve literacy and cognitive development, this is the latest collaboration been the Utopia Foundation and Dreamcatcher.

Unique Photo Project Celebrates the People of Melkhoutfontein

In 2018 and 2019 Hans Mooren, an enthusiastic photo-journalist and Chair of our sister organization, Dreamcatcher Nederlands, visited Melkhoutfontein to launch a photo project with us and the community. Affirming humanity at the heart of the project, and celebrating the people, diversity and heritage of Melkhoutfontein, Hans took over 200 photos of residents and their homes.

The Dreamcatcher Model and Impact Shared at ‘Africa Youth In Tourism Innovation Summit & Challenge’

This month Anthea was invited to share the Dreamcatcher model at the 3rd edition of the ‘Africa Youth In Tourism Innovation Summit & Challenge’ organized in collaboration with the United Nations World Travel Organisation (UNTWO) and Ghana Tourism Authority. The theme of the event held in Ghana was empowering African youth in tourism through innovation, education and investments in a changed world.

Landmark Historical Site Restored as a Community Asset

In 2014 we were approached by the then priest, Father Susan Rhode, the church wardens and the community to extend our work and help restore the historical St Augustine’s church in Melkhoutfontein, Stilbaai, which was abandoned and in a poor state of disrepair with anti-social behaviour taking place.

Dreamcatcher’s Pioneering Work Recognised at the Africa Tourism Leadership Awards in Rwanda

We were elated to be big winners at the 3rd Africa Tourism Leadership Forum (ATLF) held in Kigali, Rwanda. This major African tourism event had over 650 delegates and 70 renowned speakers from over 40 countries.
